ADVANCED WOUND CARE

Advanced wound care products are designed to treat more complex wounds. This includes hydrogels, hydrocolloids, alginates, and film and foam dressings. Advanced wound care treatments revolve around the principle of moisture therapy.

ACUTE AND CHRONIC WOUNDS

A chronic wound is one that has failed to progress through the phases of healing in an orderly and timely fashion and has shown no significant progress toward healing in 30 days.

NEGATIVE PRESSURE WOUND THERAPY

Negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) is a method of drawing out fluid and infection from a wound to help it heal. A special dressing (bandage) is sealed over the wound and a gentle vacuum pump is attached.

CONVENTIONAL DRESSINGS

A wound is a disruption of the normal structure and function of the skin and soft tissue architecture. An acute wound demonstrates normal physiology, and healing is anticipated to progress through the expected stages of wound healing, whereas a chronic wound is defined as one that is physiologically impaired.

VASCULAR ASSESSMENT

A vascular assessment is a clinical evaluation used to assess the health and function of the vascular system - the arteries and veins that circulate blood throughout the body. It helps identify conditions like peripheral arterial disease (PAD), deep vein thrombosis (DVT), venous insufficiency, and aneurysms

COMPRESSION BANDAGING

Compression bandaging is a therapeutic technique used to apply controlled pressure to a limb to improve venous return, reduce edema (swelling), and assist in the healing of venous leg ulcers and other conditions involving chronic venous insufficiency.
